It was a quiet Thursday afternoon at the city zoo. Excited schoolkids crowded around the enclosures, taking photos and pointing. That excitement quickly turned into alarm when a shiba inu puppy slipped its leash and ran toward the lion exhibit.
The pup had joined an elementary school group and escaped unnoticed. In moments, it found a small gap in the fence and darted into the lion enclosure. Visitors watched in horror as the puppy trotted in fearlessly.
Everyone held their breath. A large lion rested just feet away from the tiny dog. Zoo staff raced to the scene, expecting disaster. What followed shocked everyone.
